Can one agent handle both chat and phone calls?
Yes. A Teams user with both uWebChat and uWebChat Voice can receive website chats, WhatsApp messages, AI escalations and phone calls — all in the same Teams client.
Do I need both products?
No. uWebChat (chat) and uWebChat Voice (telephony) are separate products with independent licenses. You can start with chat only and add voice later, or use them independently.
Is uWebChat Voice on a different website?
uWebChat Voice is managed by Universal Cloud and has its product page on universal.cloud. Both products integrate natively with Microsoft Teams.
How does the pricing work for both products?
Each product has its own pricing. uWebChat chat starts free for 1 agent. uWebChat Voice has separate licensing. There are no bundle requirements — use one or both.
Can a customer switch from chat to a phone call?
With uWebChat you can switch from chat to a video call via /MeetNow. If you also use uWebChat Voice, agents can receive both chat and phone interactions in Teams.
